Cloves - Aromatic and Versatile Spice
Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of the Myrtaceae tree  Syzygium aromaticum, commonly used as a spice. Cloves are used in Asian, African, Middle Eastern, and Near Eastern cuisine, adding flavor to meats, curries, and marinades, as well as fruits like apples, pears, or rhubarb. Cloves can also be used to impart aromatic and flavor properties to hot beverages, often combined with other ingredients such as lemon and sugar. They are often used in spice blends, such as pumpkin pie spice and speculoos spice.

Cloves are also used in dentistry, where the essential oil is used as an anodyne (pain reliever) for dental and various other ailments.
